“The Key to Time” to get a non-limited DVD re-release

“The Key to Time” to get a non-limited DVD re-release

8th October 2009

Good news for anybody who missed out on the limited edition release the first time around, as 2Entertain have confirmed that they will be re-issuing “The Key to Time” DVD box set on 16th November in a non-limited release. It’ll also take up less space on your shelf than the limited edition, as it’ll be in packaging similar to that used for the new series 1 to 4 box sets. RRP is £69.99.
If you haven’t already seen “The Key to Time”, then you’re missing out on some top notch vintage Who, featuring some iconic villains like the Black Guardian, to some wonderfully wacky adventures like the Pirate Planet penned by none other than the late Douglas Adams himself. It also features the first appearance of the well liked Doctor’s companion, Romana, the Timelady played by Lalla Ward.

“Change my dear… and it seems not a moment too soon!”

“Change my dear… and it seems not a moment too soon!”

10th July 2009

You may have noticed an apparent lack of activity around here. The truth of the matter, however, is that we’ve been undergoing a regeneration. Hence we are back and bigger than before, with a raft of new features and a cool new design.

By registering for free, you will now be able to access these exciting new features:

  • Ability to add products to your personal Collection, helping you keep track of which items you already own.
  • If you don’t yet own a product, but are interested in purchasing it in the future, you can instead add it to your Wishlist, saving you time when you decide to invest in those items you really want.
  • Both your Collection and your Wishlist can be shared with other users and non-users, allowing you to compare collections and see which items are highly sought after. This is also useful for dropping not-so-subtle hints to family members come Christmas or birthday time :P
  • In order to help you share your collection with others, we provide users with the ability to add photos of their actual Doctor Who collections to their Gallery. Make others jealous of your Doctor Who chess set :P
  • Users can add reviews to all products, making it easy to share opinions of the product and providing an unbiased evaluation.

There are also various other improvements such as the Release Calendar; RSS feeds for many sections of the site; improved search and more information about each product, making it easier for you to make an informed decision about which products you would like to purchase (please note that this is still an ongoing operation).

In the future, we intend to implement a Private Messaging system, user comments and ratings and a search function for Gallery images, increased social networking features and much more!

If you have any comments about the new site, or suggestions for features or improvements, please do let us know, either by leaving a comment below or by using our contact form – we want to make the site as useful and enjoyable as possible for you – our users.

Arriving on the planet Dido in the late 25th Century, the time travellers come upon a crashed spaceship from Earth. Its two occupants – a paralysed man named Bennett and a young girl, Vicki – are living in fear of a creature called Koquillion, a native whose people have apparently killed the other members of the human expedition.

However, the Doctor quickly deduces that Koquillion is in fact Bennett in disguise; it was he who killed the others in order to conceal an earlier murder he had committed on the ship.

"The Romans" cover

The Romans

The four time travellers are enjoying a rare holiday, staying at a villa not far from Rome in the year 64 AD. The Doctor soon becomes restless and sets off to visit the city, taking Vicki with him. In their absence, Ian and Barbara are kidnapped by slave traders.

Having been mistaken for the famous lyre player Maximus Pettulian and asked to perform at the Emperor Nero’s Court, the Doctor has to devise ever more elaborate schemes to avoid revealing that he cannot actually play the instrument.

Ian meanwhile becomes a galley slave, while Barbara is sold to Nero’s slave buyer Tavius at an auction in Rome. Ian and a fellow slave named Delos escape from the galley when it is wrecked in a storm and make their way to Rome to try to find and rescue Barbara.
